The Philadelphia Security Officers Union (PSOU) is, has been, and remains the only labor union created by, run by, and representing exclusively security officers in the Philadelphia area. This is important because the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has decreed,
in section 9(b)(3) of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), that security officers do have the freedom to be in a labor organization that represents only security officers.
